The moment Sassy Sal was born, her parents knew she was gonna be Trouble. Yes, that was Trouble with a capital T. She didn’t want just regular milk, she had to be hardcore and drink her milk straight from the cow! She didn’t want any help from her parents, and she was dressing herself at two months old. She practiced riding the family dog (a Golden Retriever) like a horse and roping at 6 months old. Her first words were “YEE-HAW” and her first steps were straight to family barn to ride the bull!

All through her childhood, she rode 4 wheelers, went muddin’, hunted, fished, rode horses, bulls and every other livestock on the farm! As she grew older she became a real looker. All the boys wanted to be her boyfriend, drooling over her rich, flowing red hair and her tomboyish attitude, while still maintaining a very feminine character. Yes sir, she was a firecracker.

One day, her boyfriend at the time, gave her some of his beef jerky for a snack. She tasted it and immediately spit it out. “YUCK!”, she said. “This jerky doesn’t deserve to be in my mouth!” That led her to begin a mission to create a beef jerky just perfect for a firecracker such as herself. She searched high and low, far and wide for that perfect ingredient. After many months, she finally found it. A red pepper Chile plant had been growing on the farm, and she remembered she loved the taste of it on her spaghetti. So she cut off some of the pepper, crushed it, added it to the jerky, and WHALA – she fell instantly in love!
